Style Notes: Horses have long been loyal companions, and have held esteemed positions alongside some of the most celebrated heroes. As an enduring symbol of strength and loyalty throughout the centuries imagery of horses is dotted throughout Classical and Hellenistic sculpture. Aethon is one of the four Hippoi Areioi, the immortal Horses of Ares. The Aethon necklace is composed of a buttery golden sculpture hand carved in the form of a horse, suspended on a string. When worn, the emblem imbues its wearer with fortitude and courage.
