Kate Wood
After graduating with a French degree, Kate worked as a museum curator before turning her passion for jewellery-making into a career in 2005. Selling her first collections at London’s Spitalfields Market, she attracted a loyal clientele and attention from boutiques and galleries soon followed. After 5 years at award-winning creative hub Cockpit Arts in London’s Holborn, Kate is currently based in Bristol in the South West of England. Every piece of jewellery is handmade with care and obsessive attention to detail in her studio. Kate only works with precious metals and natural semi-precious and precious gemstones. She loves sourcing natural gemstone beads in subtle and unusual colours. The majority are hand-cut in Jaipur, India’s ‘Pink City’. Pearls are carefully selected for their smooth surface and natural lustre. Kate uses nickel-free sterling silver and gold vermeil, as well as 18k yellow gold.
