Design: Nicknamed the “Gem Whisperer", Daria de Koning is a Los-Angeles based jewelry designer and gemologist. She creates art meant to be worn and treasured as pieces of a vast collection of beauty. Her one-of-a-kind jewelry reflects femininity, confidence, and spiritedness. Daria's designs never begin in a sketchbook, but in the inner world of matrix-rich gemstones that speak to her. She is a matchmaker of colors and shapes that were destined to be together.

Style notes: Why is it unique? Obsidian is a naturally occurring volcanic glass formed when molten lava cools so rapidly that atoms are unable to arrange themselves into a crystalline structure. The result is an amorphous material with a smooth uniform texture that breaks with a conchoidal fracture. Since prehistoric times, people have used this material to make jewelry and carvings as well as practical objects, like mirrors, knives or arrowheads. In fact, obsidian was so valued for these uses that ancient people mined, transported, and traded obsidian and obsidian objects over distances of up to a thousand miles.

Price: Please note price may vary due to exchange rate differences or shipping, duties and taxes. Price may also vary with materials choice. Final price is calculated at checkout at the designer's website.

Materials: 18k warm white gold with natural surface obsidian.
