Design: Nicknamed the “Gem Whisperer", Daria de Koning is a Los-Angeles based jewelry designer and gemologist. She creates art meant to be worn and treasured as pieces of a vast collection of beauty. Her one-of-a-kind jewelry reflects femininity, confidence, and spiritedness. Daria's designs never begin in a sketchbook, but in the inner world of matrix-rich gemstones that speak to her. She is a matchmaker of colors and shapes that were destined to be together.

Why is this unique? Jasper is a compact sedimentary material – an opaque variety of chalcedony that is chosen for its beautiful color, pattern or appearance when cutting is done. While picture jasper can be found all over the world, specific colors or patterns are unique to the geographic region from which they originate. This Starry Night Jasper comes from Oregon, more specifically from the famous Hoot Elkins (deceased), who was the original miner of the material in the 1960's. He collected and hoarded many stones, consequently amassing copious fantastic specimens. These pieces are cut from his personal collection.
