Style Notes: Originating in the Arabian Peninsula, the Arabic language is part of the family of Semitic languages. Arabic was first spoken by nomadic tribes and literally means “nomadic." The Arabic Mom necklace uses natural white diamonds to show how “Mom" is written in Arabic, pronounced “Umm." The hexagon shape was one of the earliest occurring geometric forms used in Islamic architecture.
